Coming and Going on HBO Now in October 2016

James Marsden and Evan Rachel Wood in HBO's 'Westworld'

Audiences have nearly a year to wait for the next season of Game of Thrones but HBO has new distractions debuting in October. Westworld, a big-budget reimagining of Michael Crichton’s 1973 film for the modern world of robotics and artificial intelligence, stars Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, and Evan Rachel Wood. Sarah Jessica Parker returns to HBO in the new series Divorce and Issa Rae stars in Insecure, a comedy that explore the black female experience.

And in the movie line-up Deadpool, the R-rated comic book hit with Ryan Reynolds as a sardonic spandex-clad antihero, makes its cable debut on October 1. Other new movies arriving in October include the action comedy Ride Along 2 with Ice Cube and Kevin Hart, Joy with Jennifer Lawrence in an Oscar-nominated performance, Angelina Jolie’s By the Sea starring Jolie and Brad Pitt, and the action fantasy Gods of Egypt.

Also coming in October: the launch of VICE News Tonight, a nightly news program that was initially set to debut in September, and the new sketch comedy series Tracey Ullman’s Show, the original Poltergeist (1982) as well as the 2015 remake, Eastern Promises (2007) with Viggo Mortensen, The Place Beyond the Pines (2012) with Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper, and Spider-Man (2002) and Spider-Man 2 (2004) from the original superhero trilogy directed by Sam Raimi and starring Tobey Maguire.
