Coming and Going on Netflix in March 2018

Krysten Ritter in the Netflix Original series based on the Marvel Comics character

What’s the best superhero series out there? Many would nominate the Netflix’s Jessica Jones and the much anticipated second season is coming in March. It headlines the Netflix slate of original programing, which includes the limited series Collateral, a British crime drama written by playwright David Hare and starring Carey Mulligan, and new seasons of Netflix originals A Series of Unfortunate Events, Santa Clarita Diet, and Love.

Original movies include the comedies Game Over, Man featuring Workaholics stars Blake Anderson, Adam Devine, and Anders Holm and The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter with Josh Brolin and Danny McBride, high school drama First Match about a teenage girl on an all-boys wrestling team, hip-hop drama Roxanne Roxanne with Chanté Adams and Mahershala Ali, science fiction thriller The Titan with Sam Worthington and Taylor Schilling, French-Canadian zombie thriller Ravenous, and a new version of the family friendly adventure Benji.

Original documentaries include Take Your Pills, a study in the rise of prescription drugs used for performance enhancement, and Ladies First, about a young woman in rural India who became to top female archer in the world. Malala Yousafzai is David Letterman’s guest on his monthly talk show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction and there are stand-up comedy specials from Ricky Gervais and Gad Elmaleh.

And yes, Netflix still streams movies and in March they add Martin Scorsese’s Casino, The Fifth Estate with Benedict Cumberbatch as Julian Assange, the original Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2, Little Women with Winona Ryder and Susan Sarandon, and the horror films The Descent and Let Me In.

Among the titles leaving Netflix in March are Jaws (and the unnecessary sequels), the Oscar-winning animated film Zootopia, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Christopher Nolan’s Memento, and a whole slate of TV shows including the animated spy spoof Archer and crime drama The Killing.
