Coming to Amazon Prime in April 2018

Willem Dafoe and Brooklyn Prince in the film by Sean Baker

The Florida Project, one of the best reviewed films of 2017, earned an Academy Award nomination for Willem Dafoe and dozens of awards from critics groups but wasn’t seen a lot of filmgoers. Amazon hopes to remedy that when they bring the film to Prime Video in April.

Also arriving in April are The Killing of a Sacred Deer with Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman, mystery The Vanishing of Sidney Hall with Michelle Monaghan and Elle Fanning, and Tyler Perry’s I Can Do Bad All by Myself with Taraji P/ Henson, and a selection of documentary including Aida’s Secrets about a family secret that reaches back to the Holocaust, Project Nim about a chimp raised like a human in a social experiment, and music doc Standing in the Shadows of Motown.

The fourth season of the Bosch, based on the novels by Michael Connelly, continues one of Amazon’s most popular original series, and Amazon launches a new animated series for kids: Little Big Awesome. Other shows arriving in April: Vikings: Season 5, mystery The Missing: Season 2 and BBC fantasy Merlin: Seasons 1-5 from UK, and rural cop drama Red Rock: Season 3 from Ireland.

Older films rotating through the library include Sam Raimi’s A Simple Plan
with Bill Pullman and Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Scorsese’s The King of Comedy with Robert De Niro and Jerry Lewis, Marathon Man with Dustin Hoffman and Laurence Olivier, Oscar winners Philadelphia with Tom Hanks and Mystic River with Sean Penn and Tim Robbins, Gus Van Sant’s Drugstore Cowboy, and the original Carrie with Sissy Spacek.
