Coming to Video-On-Demand in December 2016

Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, and Jai Courtney star in the DC comics movie

The super anti-hero film Suicide Squad, which pits a team of supervillains against an ancient god, the new remake of the classic western The Magnificent Seven with Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt recruiting a team of cowboys for a revenge mission, and Clint Eastwood’s Sully with Tom Hanks as Captain Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger, are among the movies arriving from theaters to video-on-demand in the month of December.

December is family movie season at home and the animated comedies The Secret Life of Pets and Storks and the adventure fantasy Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children from filmmaker Tim Burton both arrive for home video rental.

Also coming in December: the comic biographical drama Florence Foster Jenkins with Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant, the romantic comedy Bridget Jones’s Baby with Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth, the secret agent sequel Jason Bourne with Matt Damon, Oliver Stone’s Snowden with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley, and the indie drama American Honey, which earned six Independent Spirit Award nominations.

Stand-out foreign arrivals this month are the Polish horror film Demon and the South Korean zombie thriller Train to Busan.

Available On Demand same day as theaters are the dramas Burn Country with James Franco and Frank & Lola with Michael Shannon and Imogen Poots and the horror thriller The Eyes of My Mother.

Video-on-Demand, what used to be known pay-per-view, is essentially a streaming rental service and has become one of the most popular home viewing choices for new movies. It is available through most digital cable and satellite systems. Most titles are also available through web-based VOD services like iTunes, Amazon Video, Vudu, Flixster, and Google Play.
