Coming to Video-On-Demand in March 2018

Sally Hawkins and Doug Jones in the Oscar nominated film by Guillermo del Toro

Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape of Water, the Oscar favorite of the season with 13 Academy Award nominations, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the blockbuster hit of 2017, are coming home in March on Cable and Video On Demand.

March is a lively month for VOD releases. The Marvel superhero hit Thor: Ragnarok, which gives the Norse God of Thunder a little more humor, and the DCU super team-up Justice League provide the comic book heroes, and Call Me by Your Name, with Armie Hammer and Timothée Chalamet, and I, Tonya, with Margot Robbie and Allison Janney, headline the Oscar nominees. Other nominated films include the animated features The Breadwinner and Ferdinand and documentary Faces Places.

Other highlights for the month include the stranger-than-fiction comedy The Disaster Artist directed by and starring James Franco, social satire Downsizing with Matt Damon, action comedy Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle with Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, and acclaimed documentary Jane on primatologist and activist Jane Goodall.

Video-on-Demand, what used to be known pay-per-view, is essentially a streaming rental service and has become one of the most popular home viewing choices for new movies. It is available through most digital cable and satellite systems. Most titles are also available through web-based VOD services like iTunes, Amazon Video, Vudu, Fandango, and Google Play.
