Coming and Going on HBO Now in April 2018

Jeffrey Wright in the HBO original series from Jonathan Nolan

Go back to the future on HBO in April: season two of the ambitious science fiction series Westworld, a smart and savvy reimagining of the 1970s movie, and War for the Planet of the Apes, the third film in the superb revival trilogy, offer radically different takes on our evolutionary course.

Also coming in April is the action comedy The Hitman’s Bodyguard with Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson, the HBO original film Paterno with Al Pacino, and the original documentaries King in the Wilderness, about the final years of Martin Luther King, and Elvis Presley: The Searcher, which follows the musical evolution of Elvis throughout his career.

Older films returning to HBO include the Jack to Ripper thriller From Hell with Johnny Depp, John Grisham adaptation Runaway Jury with Gene Hackman and Dustin Hoffman, romantic drama Waitress with Keri Russell, workplace comedy Nine to Five with Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Dolly Parton, and devil-spawn horror The Omen along with three sequels.

Among the films leaving at the end of April are the Oscar-winning modern musical La La Land, Oscar-nominated Hidden Figures, video game adaptation Assassin’s Creed, Wes Anderson’s The Royal Tenenbaums, and the original The Terminator with Arnold Schwarzenegger as the original killer robot.
