Coming and Going on HBO Now in August 2016

Eddie Redmayne stars as Lili Elbe, in Tom Hooper’s THE DANISH GIRL, released by Focus Features.

The Danish Girl, winner of the Academy Award for Best Actress (Alicia Vikander), and the Oscar nominated films Brooklyn with Saoirse Ronan and Youth with Michael Caine and Harvey Keitel make their respective HBO debuts this month.

Also arriving in August are the original documentaries Hitchcock/Truffaut, about the 1962 epic conversation between the Master of Suspense and the young French film critic-turned-film director, and filmmaker Alexander Pelosi’s Meet the Donors: Does Money Talk about political fundraising, and the new HBO original series Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the LA Rams, while the HBO original miniseries The Night Of comes to its conclusion at the end of the month.

Other August highlights: the animated The Peanuts Movie, the true-life whaling drama In the Heart of the Sea, and the remake of Point Break, plus past acting Oscar winners Capote (2005) and The Theory of Everything (2014), the underseen Hollywoodland (2006) with Adrien Brody and Ben Affleck, and a mini Al Pacino film festival featuring Dog Day Afternoon (1975), Scarface (1983), Scent of a Woman (1992), and Carlito’s Way (1993).
