Coming and Going on HBO Now in August 2018

Frances McDormand stars in the Oscar-nominated film by Martin McDonagh

August brings two Academy Award winners to HBO—Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, with Oscar-winning performances by Francis McDormand and Sam Rockwell, and Darkest Hour, which won for actor Gary Oldman and his make-up as Winston Churchill—and the all-star Agatha Christie mystery Murder on the Orient Express with Kenneth Branagh as Hercule Poirot.

August also marks the launch of two new series—the freeform late-night program Random Acts of Flyness and animated Esme & Roy for young kids from the producers of Sesame Street—and new seasons of Animals, Ballers, and Insecure.

Older titles coming back to the service include the Coen Bros.’s Fargo, The Blind Side with Sandra Bullock, The Fugitive with Harrison Ford and sequel U.S. Marshals with Tommy Lee Jones, and Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang with Robert Downey Jr.

Among the films leaving at the end of August are the Back to the Future trilogy, Oscar-winning musical West Side Story, small scale western In a Valley of Violence, and the Sex and the City movie.
