‘Jessica Jones,’ the second original Marvel Comics Universe series to roll out of the Netflix ‘Defenders’ project, doesn’t launch until November 20, but Netflix is building anticipation. Last week it was the alarm clock gag. This week is a somewhat longer clip that carries more hints about the character of Ms. Jones, one of Marvel’s lesser known heroes, and the bad reputation that follows her around.
Krysten Ritter stars as Jessica Jones, a character created by Brian Michael Bendis in the series “Alias” and transformed into a major presence in MCU thanks to her involvement in the New Avengers. The Netflix series appears to reach back to her early days, when she was a superpowered woman in Hell’s Kitchen trying to figure out her place in the superhero community.
