Watch This! Oscar nominated ‘4.1 Miles’ streaming free

4.1 Miles follow a day in the life of a coast guard captain from the Greek island of Lesbos who spends his days rescuing refugees fleeing their war torn countries across in often dangerous vessels across the Mediterranean.

Greek-born, San Francisco-based filmmaker and journalist Daphne Matziaraki earned an Academy Award nomination for her debut short, which she filmed while returning home in 2015.

The 26-minute film is streaming for free at The New York Times in their Op-Docs online section.
